Kathleen, I saw these images on your site and as always, I am completely breathless. It is an amazing, emotional series that speaks to me. I'm hoping to be there on the 21st-- we'll cross our fingers and hope the planets align so I can make it. Please know you are completely amazing and always an inspiration to me. Many hugs--Jaime

Your images are thrilling and leave me wanting more. There is great hope for us all in knowing that the images you pushed to the side have returned. I love the thought that they are our white rabbit, beckoning us to adventure. How exciting!

I love the white rabbit imagery! Who knew we just had to follow the dreams that were already there? I love the pictures--I'm heading to your website to look at more.

Lanola Kathleen, thank you for sharing this stunning portfolio with us just a couple of days ago. I am delighted to hear the excitement in your voice at finally creating and capturing the images you have always dreamed about. May they continue to flow through your mind and eyes.

These are important questions: fostering creativity in those we share daily life with. I am conscious of sometimes shutting down my children's creative impulses in pursuit of homework, music practice, routine. But like Lanola Kathleen, for the past few months I've been pursuing an outlet I've buried for a long long time. And it feels so good.

Friends ask, how do you find the time? And I reply, it's become like air to me. I must breathe. I must write.

And I must make sure I give those I love most the same opportunity. Thank you for the reminder.

Beautiful.

I find the need to foster creativity in those we love stronger than my own need for creativity. I love seeing my children exhibit a creative side, and encouraging to take it a step further.

Congratulations!
Love the image of the colorful little girl climbing into the attic...

(Note: Showing at Art Basel - Miami is a BIG deal in the Contemporary Art world. This means Kathleen has made it.)

My favorite activity growing up was "school." No surprise!

Lovely images! Photos like that are great triggers for the way my imagination works.

I am amazed how resilient creativity is. No matter how long it is unattended the seed of creativity remains viable and responsive. When nurtured even a little it seems to grow like Jack's magic beans.

I'm hoping to see more of your photos at the exhibit this week.

About this blog

  • When I took a sabbatical from Wall Street to pursue a different dream and help others live theirs, I learned that women in the U.S. may be placated, even pampered, but because we aren't dreaming, we are also desperate and depressed. Drawing on a variety of sources, ranging from academic studies to pop culture, dare to dream encourages us to dream. And then to act on our dreams.
