I love this. For a while I've been trying to pinpoint my fading love for social media. You've helped me figure it out! I now realize that my balance sheet is off; my ROI simply isn't high enough anymore.
Although if it weren't for social media, I wouldn't have met new, great people -- like you. So I'm not sure if it's time I re-evaluate my relationship with social media or I I change my attitude about it. (Maybe a little of both.)
Thanks Whitney!

Great article Whitney. I tried to comment on HBR, but the comment function doesn't appear to be working. I've always struggled with the value of social media (outside of blogs - love them) and now I have a good framework to determine if they work for me.

About this blog

  • When I took a sabbatical from Wall Street to pursue a different dream and help others live theirs, I learned that women in the U.S. may be placated, even pampered, but because we aren't dreaming, we are also desperate and depressed. Drawing on a variety of sources, ranging from academic studies to pop culture, dare to dream encourages us to dream. And then to act on our dreams.
