George Brymer at Vital Integrities talks about focusing on the strengths instead of the weaknesses of employees. Too often "team" members are told to improve their weaknesses when instead of having their strengths embraced. The strengths are then neglected and become less of a benefit. He uses Tiger Woods as an example.

I saw Seth Godin talk this week and he said you need to aim to be the best in the world at what you do (in work). School wants you to be average, so that C stands out. Better to have all B+ grades. He was not a fan of that attitude. Reach for the stars and be the best. Beat mediocrity was the catch cry.

About this blog

  • When I took a sabbatical from Wall Street to pursue a different dream and help others live theirs, I learned that women in the U.S. may be placated, even pampered, but because we aren't dreaming, we are also desperate and depressed. Drawing on a variety of sources, ranging from academic studies to pop culture, dare to dream encourages us to dream. And then to act on our dreams.
